Steven Spielberg, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton And More At Goonies Reunion With Josh Gad

Josh Gad did what many have tried to do but failed — he singlehandedly reunited the cast of The Goonies. The event was for charity and in support of The Center for Disaster Philanthropy that is focusing on Coronavirus relief. Though it was announced earlier that the cast including Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, Jeff Cohen, and Ke Huy Quan would appear, it was also said that there would be surprise guests. Everyone was surprised when the live stream aired on Monday, April 27, 2020, and the surprise guests were revealed. First to join was the Fratelli brothers played by Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano, followed by screenwriter Chris Columbus. Next up was the film’s director Richard Donner. Cyndi Lauper then joined the panel as she sang the theme song “The Goonies “R” Good Enough,” and most surprising was the writer of the film Steven Spielberg.

Several of the movie’s iconic characters have sadly passed away and though they couldn’t be at the reunion, they were there in spirit. First was Anne Ramsey who played Mama Fratelli and John Matuszak who played Sloth.

The full reunion show was approximately half an hour long. The Goonies cast was on point and didn’t miss a beat. Josh Gad’s new program is off to a huge success and many people are excited to see what the next reunion will be. Not many were aware that the Frozen actor was a Goonies’ fan but now the cast has made him an honorary Goonie. He couldn’t have been more thrilled!

Speaking about the reunion, Josh Gad stated the following.

“There is one movie that defines my childhood. One movie that defines my personality. One movie that defines me.”
