Charlamagne Tha God Praises New Dave TV Show From David Burd AKA Lil’ Dicky

For years, Lil’ Dicky – who goes by his real name now, David Burd – has been staying quiet on the topic of releasing a new project following the success of Professional Rapper, his debut record. However, just because he hasn’t dropped a new album, it doesn’t mean he’s not working.

Lil’ Dicky, the “Save Dat Money” rapper, recently expanded his career into the world of television with the release of his successful series, Dave, on FXX. Interestingly, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee both appeared in the last episode, despite their complicated history with Lil’ Dicky.

Dave famously appeared on an episode of The Breakfast Club in which the hosts of the series grilled him on accusations of cultural appropriation – the idea that a dominant culture steals cultural ideas from a disenfranchised population.

Currently, Dave is the highest-rated show in FXX history and many prominent members of the hip-hop community have supported him, including Charlamagne and Angela Yee themselves.

Following the airing of the episode, Charlamagne took to his Instagram to say that Dave’s new show is one of the best series out there right now, which comes as a big surprise to fans who watched the aforementioned episode of The Breakfast Club featuring Lil’ Dicky.

Charlamagne Tha God also mentioned that he was never paid to shout out to the popular FX series. In fact, he joked that he doesn’t even know if he was paid to appear on it.

Earlier this year, Lil’ Dicky stopped by the set of Whiskey Ginger, Andrew Santino’s podcast, in which the two spoke about a number of subjects including his show. Andrew Santino also has a role in the series.

According to Dave’s Wikipedia Page, it first began on the 4th of March, 2020, and it was created by David himself and Jeff Schaffer. Schaffer is one of the most respected directors of comedy television programs. He worked on Seinfeld and also Curb Your Enthusiasm, two of the most critically acclaimed and successful series of all time.
