Zach Roerig From Vampire Diaries Arrested On DUI Charges
On Memorial Day weekend, Zach Roerig, the Vampire Diaries star, was arrested on DUI charges not long before he reportedly peed himself. TMZ was the first to report that Roerig, who portrayed Matt Donovan on Vampire Diaries, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning around 2:30 am.
The police pulled him over in Montpelier, Ohio, after noticing his truck was missing the license plate at the front of the vehicle. Authorities noticed that the 35-year-old actor was exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, alcohol smell, reduced verbal coognition, and then also failing sobriety tests.
Roerig allegedly said to the police officer before he went on a rant, “this is very hard, I can’t do this when I’m f*cking…” When the authorities asked him what he was trying to say, Roerig said he couldn’t do it without “having a beer.”
It was at that point when the police took him into custody and he urinated in the cell. The actor will appear in a court of law on the 4th of June.
This wouldn’t be the first time that an actor was arrested on DUI charges. TMZ reported earlier this year that authorities picked up Chris O’Neal, the Greenhouse Academy alum after he drove into two cars and hurt at least one person.
The outlet claims the actor was driving in San Fernando Valley and he struck two vehicles. O’Neal then fled the scene of the crime. After several people called the police, they arrived at the location and found Chris by following the tracks.
After discovering him, he was arrested for felony hit and run, and he also endured minor injuries. Celebrity arrests aren’t all that uncommon. Dina Lohan also had a run-in with the police when she fled the scene of the crime.
At the beginning of the year, a prosecutor demanded Dina serve time in jail and also endure months of probation. Her own daughter, Lindsay, has struggled with substances and driving as well, a controversy that played a crucial role in her fall from the graces of Hollywood.
