Trippie Redd Bails Out Of Boxing Match With YK Osiris At The Last Minute

Trippie Redd backed out of his boxing match. According to a new report from Hot New Hip Hop, the performing artist, who had a fight planned with YK Osiris, chose to back out of the fight at the last minute because he didn’t want to associate with “bulls**t.”

Earlier in the week, YK fought Lil’ Tjay in a match that was mocked by two of the biggest names in hip-hop at the moment, Tory Lanez, and the controversial Tekashi 6ix9ine. After the fight went down, YK began looking for a new opponent.

On the 28th of May, Thursday, YK announced that he and Trippie Redd would be duking it out over Instagram Live, with Tekashi 6ix9ine and DJ Akademiks acting as the commentators. Just a few hours before it was supposed to go down, Trippie said he wasn’t going to do it.

Trippie Redd said on Instagram that he thought it was going to be a fight, but as it turns out, it wasn’t going to go down in the manner he expected. Trippie went on to refer to himself as a “real n*gga,” and that he couldn’t associate himself with a social media boxing match.

It’s not entirely clear why Trippie Redd backed out of the fight, but some commenters on social media claimed it had something to do with Tekashi 6ix9ine’s sudden involvement. Obviously, Trippie and Tekashi have history, and the commentating would be one-sided.

As most know, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been the scorn of the hip-hop community ever since he was released from prison to his home earlier this year. The rapper got out on account of the coronavirus pandemic. He said he suffered from asthma and was at risk while staying behind bars.

Furthermore, Tekashi 6ix9ine did act as a federal informant in the conviction, sentencing, and subsequent incarceration of his former Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods associates, for which he was described as a “stellar witness” by the feds.

Obviously, being described as a “stellar witness,” was sacrilegious among many in the rap industry, and some fans believe Trippie backed out for this reason.
