Ted Bundy Docuseries With His Ex-Fiance Coming To Amazon Prime — Ted Bundy: Falling For A Killer

Following Netflix’s docuseries and movie Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, Amazon Prime is releasing their own series based on Ted Bundy’s ex-fiance Elizabeth Kendall’s account of living with the serial killer. The docuseries is coming to Amazon Prime on January 31, 2020, and is titled Ted Bundy: Falling For A Killer. Ted Bundy isn’t the first serial killer who managed to keep a fiance in the dark (the BTK killer was married for 34 years), but Elizabeth Kendall is one of the few who was so intimate with a serial killer and chose to write about her experience.

Elizabeth met Ted Bundy in 1969. She was a single mother and not only did she fall in love with Ted, but she thought he was a great influence for her daughter. Ted spent a great deal of time with Elizabeth and Molly (who was a toddler) and Liz never had any clue that the man she had welcomed into their lives was killing young women.

The docuseries tells Liz’s story (her last name was Kloepfer when she knew Ted Bundy) and is from her point of view. Liz also wrote the book The Phantom Prince under the last name Kendall.

Amazon wrote the following about the upcoming docuseries.

“After years of silence, Ted Bundy’s long-term girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall, her daughter Molly, and other survivors come forward for the first time in a docuseries that reframes Bundy’s crimes from a female perspective. The series reveals how Bundy’s pathological hatred of women collided with the culture wars and feminist movement of the 1970s in one of the most infamous crime stories of our time.”

Elizabeth Kendall made it clear that she doesn’t want this docuseries to be another movie or television program that focuses on Ted and his crimes. Instead, it’s her story and the story of the women.

She also goes into depth about how Ted Bundy was incensed by the women’s rights movement and that fueled his hatred towards women.
