Michael Jordan’s Agent Claims The NBA Legend Turned Down $100 Million For A Two-Hour Event Appearance
NBA G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan is back in the headlines nearly two decades after his retirement thanks to the ESPN docu-series The Last Dance, which tells the story of Jordan’s final season with the Chicago Bulls. But, according to his agent, David Falk, Jordan isn’t interested in the spotlight since he walked away from his basketball career.
During an appearance on WFAN’s Boomer and Gio this week, Falk explained that Jordan continues to get incredible offers even though he retired from the NBA in 2003. But, he is extremely picky when it comes to the events that he attaches himself to, and money doesn’t matter.

“I brought him a deal three years ago for $100 million. All he had to do was, other than giving his name and likeness, make a one two-hour appearance to announce the deal and he turned it down,” Falk explained.
He says he admires Jordan because the basketball legend has been so successful he has the opportunity to do whatever he wants, and turn down things he doesn’t want. Falk noted that Jordan is “very, very selective in the things he wants to be involved in.”
The Last Dance is a 10-part series that focuses on the Chicago Bulls’ historic 1997-1998 season, which was not only Jordan’s last season with the team, but their last with coach Phil Jackson. On the way to winning their sixth championship in the 1990s, Jordan and his teammates – including Scottie Pippen, Stever Kerr, and notorious bad boy Dennis Rodman – endured a season filled with drama.

Jordan, Coach Jackson, and the Bulls allowed NBA Entertainment to follow them throughout the historic season and document their final championship together. The Last Dance features unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with more than 100 people close to the team. Jordan agreed to be filmed during the final season because he had control over the footage. It was up to him if it would ever be turned into a documentary, and he finally agreed to it after the success of long-form documentaries, like ESPN’s OJ: Made In America and Netflix’s Making A Murderer.
The first two episodes of The Last Dance aired on April 19, and ESPN is airing two new episodes every Sunday night until the finale on May 17. All 10 episodes will air on ESPN and the ESPN App in the U.S. and can be streamed outside the U.S. on Netflix.
