Indeed, you may know that Anderson’s father, writer Wyatt Emory Cooper passed away back in 1978 during open heart surgery.
He was only 50 years old and while he was still pretty young, Anderson was old enough for him to remember his dad very well and miss him to this day.
Furthermore, the anchor also shared a similar announcement about becoming a dad himself, this time on air.
That being said, he got a bit emotional while talking about his new baby boy.
He revealed that he paid tribute to his mom as well, not just his father, when naming his son.
Gloria Vanderbilt is also no longer amongst us, passing away back in June at the age of 95.
‘My son’s middle name’s Morgan. It is a family name on my mom’s side. I know that my mom and dad liked the name Morgan because I found a list that they made 52 years ago when they were trying to pick a name for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son, he was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he’s sweet, and soft, and healthy and I’m beyond happy,’ Anderson shared with his audience. Aww… Congratulations, Anderson Cooper!
