Beyonce Encourages The Class Of 2020 To Be ‘Future Leaders’ In Powerful Speech Touching On All Current Events

Beyonce was one of the many stars who joined Youtube’s ‘Dear Class of 2020’ event into wishing those graduating amid the COVID-19 pandemic a warm congratulations. She also took this opportunity to talk about Pride Month, the Black Lives Matter movement and other topics of importance.

The superstar had a lot of inspiring and powerful things to say as she encouraged the Class of 2020 to become ‘future leaders.’

‘Congratulations to the class of 2020. You have arrived,’ she started her speech, addressing all those who, like never before in recent history, were unable to have any kind of graduating celebration or ceremony due to the coronavirus quarantine.

Many other celebrities part of the event had captured their speeches on camera before the tragic death of George Floyd and the protests that followed all over the country.

However, that was not the case with Beyonce who was able to speak up about both the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.

She did, of course, also address the LGBTQ community, since June is Pride Month, as well as all those who ‘feel different’ in any way.

‘If you’re part of a group that’s called ‘other’. A group that does not get to be the center stage. Build your own stage and just make them see you. Your queerness is beautiful. Your blackness is beautiful. Your compassion, understanding, fight for people who might be different from you is beautiful. I hope that you continue to go into the world and show them you will never stop being yourself. That it is your time now,’ she said during the speech.

The singer encouraged the graduates to also learn from all of their failures and any difficult experiences they may go through in life, pointing out that: ‘Yes, I’ve been blessed to win 24 Grammys but I’ve lost 46 times…Don’t feel entitled to win. Surrender to the cards you’re dealt. Losing can be the best motivator.’
