Kelly Ripa Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Her Former Live! Co-Host Regis Philbin After The News Of His Passing

After the news of Regis Philbin’s passing at the age of 88 was shared with the world, many flooded all social media platforms with sweet messages and tributes to the legendary TV host. That being said, his colleagues in the field were not an exception, Kelly Ripa included!

The celeb is definitely amongst those mourning and remembering Regis Philbin.

Kelly Ripa took to her go-to platform to post a heartfelt message after it was announced that Regis Philbin had died of natural causes only weeks before his 89th birthday.

His former Live! With Regis and Kelly co-host wrote, in a joint statement that also included her current Live! co-host, Ryan Seacrest that: ‘We are beyond saddened over the loss of Regis Philbin. He was the ultimate class act, bringing laughter and joy into our homes every day on Live for more than 23 years.’

The statement goes on to read: ‘We were beyond lucky to have him as a mentor in our careers and aspire every day to fill his shoes on the show. We send our deepest love and condolences to his family and hope they can find some comfort in knowing he left the world a better place.’

As longtime viewers of Live! are aware, Kelly Ripa replaced Kathie Lee Gifford back in 2001, changing the title to Live! With Regis and Kelly!

The two co-hosted the famous morning show together for no less than a decade up until Regis left the show in November of 2011.

Even though the two went on to have some drama and did not keep in touch after, it’s safe to say that their time together on Live! was still a great experience.

On the very last episode Kelly and Regis hosted alongside each other, she sweetly told him: ‘Your light is what shined around all of us and made us look so bright for so long.’
