Jay-Z’s Festival Made In America Postponed Due To COVID-19

San Fransisco Gate reported today that Made in America, Jay-Z’s festival in Philadelphia, won’t happen on Labor Day weekend this year on account of the COVID-19 pandemic. Released on Wednesday, Roc Nation revealed their statement in which they said Jay-Z would postpone this year’s festival until 2021.

The statement commented on a number of issues, including the pandemic, police brutality, as well as “systematic racism.” Reportedly, Made In America was supposed to take place on the 5th and 6th of September at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Tickets sold for this year’s event will be valid for next year, however, ticketholders who want their money back should wait for an email from Live Nation about how to get their refund.

While the coronavirus pandemic certainly had an effect on multiple industries around the globe, the entertainment business was hit particularly hard. Festivals, concerts, and other events that performing artists usually need to make money have all been canceled or postponed for the remainder of the year.

Events such as Coachella have been postponed, and movie production and television sets were all put on hold for the foreseeable future.

It’s not clear when the business will resume like normal, but some medical experts have urged for the banning of large gatherings until a vaccine has been created.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical expert who appeared at the regular coronavirus briefings, has suggested repeatedly in the past that a virus wouldn’t come until 2021, or at the very soonest, by the ending of the year.

According to a report from CNN, Fauci recently said that the United States and other collaborating nations are currently on track for having the vaccine at the end of the year. Fauci said this with “cautious optimism” however.

In recent news, Anthony Fauci claimed that it was a bad idea for Americans to gather in bars and clubs to celebrate Independence Day.

As for Jay-Z, the rapper has been in headlines for other reasons of late, including when a woman claimed she was his daughter.
