Amanda Kloots Does First Interview After Nick Cordero Passes Away: ‘I’m Heartbroken’

After months of fighting to recover from the deadly COVID-19 virus, Nick Cordero has passed away. His brave grieving widow Amanda Kloots has just given her first official interview.

The Broadway star was admitted to the hospital over three months ago with what was believed to be pneumonia. He was then diagnosed with the Coronavirus in which he beat but unfortunately did not survive from the damage it caused.

Between an amputation and a pacemaker surgery, doctors did everything they could to save Nick who fought with all his heart. Although there were times where he seemed to be regaining consciousness, the Broadway star was not able to win the long-fought battle.

Kloots took to Instagram to announce her husband’s passing where she was bombarded with love, light, and prayers from followers and celebrities alike.

Nick not only leaves behind a wife but also a one-year-old son.

Amanda spoke to People Magazine for this week’s issue where Nick’s angelic face graced the cover.

My husband on the cover of People magazine this week. Wow! ⠀ As I look back on these last three months and at how hard we all fought, especially Nick, I’m in awe of my husband. Nick was a “people” person. He loved being around people. He loved talking to people, learning from people. He always said that he thought people felt scared or intimidated by him at first because he was 6’5”, but Nick was everyone’s friend! He looked you in the eyes, made you feel important, went the extra step to be there for others. ⠀ These last three months the people of the world have held us up and supported us every day. The outreach has changed me forever. Thank you. In a time of pandemic, hard ships and quarantine where you had to be “alone” to survive – people instead came together and united with not only our family but all the families affected by this virus. That is a silver lining. ❤ Thank you @people link in stories for the article. ‘My husband was a very special man. He was everyone’s friend. We taught each other things, challenging each other to grow. We loved to sing and dance wherever we were. Just looking at him doing the simplest things would bring a smile to my face,’ she told the publication.

She went on to say: ‘As a husband, I don’t think a day went by that he didn’t say to me, ‘I’m the luckiest.’ Words can’t describe how much I will miss him, his presence, his voice. I’m heartbroken.’

Kloots, who famously documented her commitment and Nick’s fight on Instagram, has been finding solace in sharing memories about Nick on the social media platform.

The mother has taken to her Stories to reflect about a time where their lights went out during a blackout and Nick found himself in a panic. The story had a sweet ending.
