Frank Lampard gives Chelsea injury update ahead of Leicester tie
Frank Lampard has provides Chelsea injury updates on three players of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger and Willian ahead of Leicester City match at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Rudiger has been sidelined since April with a knee problem he picked up in the Manchester United game, whilst Brazil international Willian is recovering from an injury suffered during this summer’s Copa America.
Hudson-Odoi is coming back from an awful injury when he ruptured his Achilles' tendon towards the back-end of last season against Burnley.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Leicester clash, Lampard provided injury updates on the trio, "He (Hudson-Odoi) is getting closer, he has trained over the last week or two with the Under-23s, there is going to be a period of conditioning work for him.
"The injury looks good which is great news. Then he is going to have to be fitter than he has ever been because I want him to run. Rudiger is training. Whether he is completely matched fit is another thing, for the same reason as Callum. A bit of "condition. Same thing as Willian, Willian is probably closer. They are both in contention for the weekend."
Lampard will be looking for his first win as Chelsea manager after back-back to lost against Manchester United in the Premier League and Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup last Wednesday in Istanbul.
