EPL - In another VAR twist as Spurs escape with a draw at City
In another VAR twist at Etihad Stadium as Tottenham Hotspurs escape at the hands of Manchester City after 2-2 scored draw in the Premier League encounter on Saturday night.
In the late kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, Rodri's appeals for an early penalty went unrewarded when he tumbled in a tangle with Erik Lamela, as referee Michael Oliver and VAR felt no offence had been committed.
But Manchester City did not have to wait long for the opener as Kevin De Bruyne's whipped cross from the right of the 18-yard box after 20 minutes was met by a Raheem Sterling header back across goal and beyond Hugo Lloris - his fourth of the season.
But Spurs hit back inside three minutes, Lamela planting a well-placed strike past Ederson from the edge of the area to make it 1-1.
City's lead was restored in the 35th minute when Aguero glanced in a close-range finish from another De Bruyne delivery.
Second-half substitute Lucas Moura again put Spurs level in the 56th minute, out-leaping Kyle Walker before connecting with a Lamela corner kick at the near post.
Gabriel Jesus thought he'd scored the winner from a corner in stoppage time. However, a video review judged that the ball grazed the arm of a Manchester City player before reaching the Brazil international.
