August Alsina Confirms Relationship With Jada Pinkett Smith — Says Will Smith Approved!
August Alsina and Jada Pinkett have been dropping subtle hints that they were an item for years now. In a new interview, August confirms that he was in a relationship with the actress and revealed that Will Smith approved of it.
There have been rumors floating that Will and Jada were in an open marriage for quite some time. Even when speaking about their marriage, they referred to it as a partnership.
While appearing on Rap Radar, Smith explained that they do not even call themselves husband and wife anymore.
‘We refer to ourselves as ‘life partners.’ You get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do. Ever. Nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support [until] death, and it feels so good to get to that space.’
Jada echoed these statements with The Guardian just last year.
August just released an album and documentary and is now doing press for the piece of work after taking a long break.

While speaking to Angela Yee, he explains how deeply in love he was with the Set It Off star.
‘I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation in their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism. He gave me his blessing and I told him and I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life. And I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it. So much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody. I really loved a person. I experienced that. I know what that feels like and some people never get that in this lifetime.’
Although this had been talked about many times, people are shocked to hear him confirm what was merely suspicion before.
