Jim Edmonds Thanks New Girlfriend For Saving Him From His ‘Loveless And Abusive’ Marriage To Meghan King Edmonds

Jim Edmonds has slammed his estranged wife – former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King – in a new Instagram post praising his new girlfriend, Kortnie O’Connor. The former St. Louis Cardinals center fielder says that if it wasn’t for O’Connor, he doesn’t think he would “be here right now.”

Edmonds posted a series of pics with O’Connor – who was Jim and Meghan’s threesome partner during their marriage – and wrote in the caption that his new girlfriend has helped him feel like himself again after his alleged “loveless and abusive relationship” with King.

“If it wasn’t for this girl, I don’t think I would be here right now,” wrote the Fox Sports Midwest broadcaster. “She showed up in my life just at the right time. Amazing that her taking a chance on a plus one weekend to Mexico pulled me out of my hole and changed my life forever.”

Edmonds explained that he was in “such a dark place” after his split from King in October 2019, and it was something he didn’t think could happen to him. The 49-year-old wrote that he was “going through hell ending a loveless and abusive relationship,” and the lies and accusations that followed his split from King put him “deeper into a funk.”

Edmonds says that at that time, along came “this beautiful woman by chance,” who “lit up” his world and brought him back to life.

“I’m very grateful for my amazing friends, children and this amazing woman for making me a better person and father. #reallife,” wrote Edmonds.

King has not commented about her estranged husband’s accusations of abuse, but his rep Steve Honig told Page Six that “Jim’s words speak for themselves” and the Cardinals hall-Of-famer is “grateful to have Kortnie in his life.”

King – who is currently dating businessman Christian Schauf – has claimed in the past that Edmonds controlled and abused her. She told Us Weekly after her split from Edmonds that she “endured prolific controlling by Jim and it isn’t slowing down.” She added that she was “sick of the abuse” and she wasn’t going to engage anymore because she didn’t have to.

Jim Edmonds and Megan King were married for five years, and they are the parents of three children: daughter Aspen, 3, and twin boys Hart and Hayes, 2.
