President Donald Trump has expressed his disappointment in Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven for not securing A$AP Rocky's immediate release from jail after the rapper was charged with assault on Thursday.
"Very disappointed in Prime Minister Stefan Lofven for being unable to act," an outraged Trump tweeted on Thursday. "Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States. I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers. Treat Americans fairly! #FreeRocky".

Trump, who is not friends with Rocky, said officials should focus on "real crimes" in Sweden: "Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM. We do so much for Sweden but it doesn't seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem!"

Trump previously assured his friends Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (pictured with Lil Kim and Rocky) that he would reach out to Swedish officials to secure his release.
But officials in Sweden apparently don't respect the U.S. president enough to release one of America's citizens.
Legal observers say the assault charge against Rocky was a "slap in the face" to Trump.
The new charge means the "Fashion Killa" will remain behind bars until his trial which is yet to be scheduled.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has been held in jail for three weeks following his arrest after he was involved in a street fight with two Afghan migrants.
In a police interview, Rocky, 30, said the two men were high on drugs when they pursued him and his crew for blocks and hit his bodyguard over the head with a pair of headphones.
On Monday, a Swedish prosecutor said no charges would be filed against one of the migrants for assault because he acted in self-defense after he was allegedly attacked by Rocky and his crew.
According to WENN.com, on Thursday prosecutor Daniel Suneson said in a statement he had filed the counts against Rocky and two other members of his entourage after coming to the conclusion that "the events in question constitute a crime, despite claims of self-defense and provocation".
Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, was arrested on July 2, and is being held at the Kronoberg Detention Center, alongside his two associates.
Photos published by a Swedish newspaper this week shows the clean, bright dormitory-like atmosphere of the detention facility where Rocky and his crew are being detained. The photos conflict with the description given by the rapper's attorney who claimed Rocky lived in squalid conditions with barely enough food or water to survive a week.
Rocky could remain in a detention facility for months or even a year before his trial. He faces a maximum of 6 years in prison if convicted.
