Jennifer Lopez Says She Felt Like A ‘Failure’ When She And Marc Anthony Divorced
During her talk with Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez opened up about some personal details of her life, including her divorce from Marc Anthony, which, as it turns out, was not easy at all! The triple threat confessed that it really affected her to the point that she felt like a ‘failure’ and eventually had to re-examine her entire life with their two kids following the separation.
While a special guest at Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus event, J.Lo. shared that ‘When we divorced it was the lowest time in my life. I felt I had failed miserably. I had to re-examine my whole life…and regroup at that time. I had waited to have kids [until] 38 and I’d never wanted not to be with the person I had children with and felt that I wasn’t going to give them what they needed and just didn’t know what to do.’
As fans know, Jen and Marc share twins Max and Emme together.
She went on, telling the host that ‘I did therapy, prayed — a lot — I learned to meditate. I read many of Louise Hay‘s books, I’ve met Louise Hay. Whatever I could. I was around people in my life that were older and more experienced who could help me….the experience and wisdom they have is just so priceless to me.’
Jen explained that since she was raised as a Roman Catholic, that was the main reason why the divorce was so tough on her.
She used to think and still does, that kids need both of their parents but now she’s also realized that one’s personal happiness is also very important.
Now, Jen is engaged with Alex Rodriguez and they are very happy together, even though they are not in a hurry to tie the knot. For more about that, click here!
