Harvey Weinstein Is ‘Breathing On His Own’ Following COVID-19 Diagnosis
As most of North Americans know, Harvey Weinstein was recently convicted and sent to prison for twenty-three years after he was slapped with a guilty verdict regarding his Manhattan rape and sexual assault case.
Weinstein was sent to Riker’s Island before being sent off to an alternative prison. As fate would have it, Weinstein contracted the coronavirus while in the penitentiary. Several publications revealed that the former movie mogul came down with the sickness earlier this week.
Page Six, who spoke with a source, claimed that after Harvey contracted COVID-19, he has been “breathing on his own,” but hasn’t shown symptoms of the illness. As the world knows, Harvey is particularly susceptible to COVID-19 due to his age as well as his pre-existing conditions.
Harvey is currently staying in the Wende Correctional Facility in upstate New York, near Buffalo. The 68-year-old ex-producer tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday. An official who spoke with the New York Post confirmed that it was believed Harvey contracted COVID-19 while at Riker’s Island.
As it was noted above, Harvey is currently serving a 23-year sentence for raping an actress and sexually assaulting a production assistant. The former Hollywood mainstay was convicted on the charges this past month.
Medical professionals tested him at Bellevue Hospital after he developed a dry cough, one of the tell-tale signs of the coronavirus in addition to other flu symptoms like fever. However, after his March 11th sentencing, he was tested for the virus initially and the results came back negative.
But once he was sent to Rikers this past Monday, he was put under quarantine for a few days before finally being shipped off to Wende. In other words, it’s believed that he picked up the bug in Rikers.

Many people on social media, including Rose McGowan – one of the women who accused him of rape in the late 1990s – clearly took pleasure in the former producer’s condition coupled with his guilty verdict handed down at the beginning of the month. You can see what she had to say for the ex-Miramax executive in the tweet above.
