Donald Trump’s Involvement In A$AP Rocky Case May Actually Backfire For The Rapper — Here’s Why

Donald Trump‘s early involvement in A$AP Rocky‘s ongoing Swedish assault case investigation and incarceration may have actually backfired — and the rapper himself may be the one most hurt by it all.

According to a new report out in TMZ, the rapper may “be in even more peril” as he languishes in a Swedish jail waiting for his release upon the completion of prosecutor’s investigation into assault — and it may be BECAUSE Trump & the U.S. government tried to help him.

As we reported the other day, Trump reached out to the highest levels of the Swedish government to inquire about potentially freeing Rocky from jail pending the assault investigation, but the Swedish Prime Minister’s response may tell us all we need to know about whether it worked.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister revealed some of the convo that went down with Trump behind the scenes this weekend; apparently, the Swedish leader made it clear to The Donald that he cannot impact “the complete independence of the Swedish judicial system, prosecutors and courts.”

Furthermore, the spokesman indicated a bit more about the prime minister’s very specific role in NOT influencing things like criminal investigations, saying (below):

“He [the PM] underlined that in Sweden everyone is equal before the law and that the government cannot and will not attempt to influence the legal proceedings.”

Wow! Sounds like there’s not much Trump can do — and his presence may actually be hurting Rocky if the prosecution decides to take things personally based on his desire to get involved so publicly and so loudly. That goes for Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West, too, as they have been very publicly involved in Rocky’s situation here pretty much from the start. Awkward..

According to TMZ, sources “connected to the case” believe that the presence of the U.S. State Department, as well as the Office of the President, may actually be working against Rocky now because they’re seen as trying to be too involved in the prosecutor’s business. And the fear now, for those involved, is that the prosecutor is likely to go harder on A$AP Rocky because he’s being pressed from so many different angles to be lenient.

Ah, global diplomacy and the entertainment industry… quite the situation!!!

We’ll see whether Trump (and Kimye) get the message and butt out on this one, but at least for now… things aren’t looking too good for the rapper or anybody else involved.
